About Karriem

Firefighter Abd' Allah-Karriem Ali passed away the morning of August 13, 2007 after a three year battle with cancer. He was 37 years old and married with five children. A resident of the city of Englewood for over fourteen years and an Englewood career firefighter for three years, Karriem was an active member of the community and will be missed by those who knew him. Prior to his appointment as a firefighter in 2004, Karriem was an inspector for the Englewood Fire Prevention Department. Firefighter Kariem was a member of IAFF Local 3260 and secretary of the Jabari Society (IABPFF). He received the 2007 Valor Award from the 200 Club of Bergen County, a Commendation from the New Jersey State Legislation, and a Valor Award from the New Jersey Professional Firefighters (lAFF) for the rescue of an occupant trapped and unconcious during an apartment fire. The 200 Club also recognized his efforts at a banquet in April of 2007.

The purpose of this fund is to support Firefighter Ali's Family in their time of need, and will help put his five children through college as well as helping his family with everyday living expenses. Donate here.
